Ceramics

I received my masters in teaching in 2018 from Seattle Pacific University. I was endorsed in Fine Arts and Theatre Arts with a K-12 certification. As my student teaching placement unfolded, I learned that I would be teaching ceramics, a medium I had never explored. I’ve been told that you just need to be one day ahead of the students, but I wanted to at least touch the stuff before I was standing in front of a classroom! I quickly signed up for my first clay class ever at Seattle Pottery in the fall of 2017 prior to my second semester assignment and this was one of the projects that came out of it. This hand now holds all of my carving tools and I must say that I loved student teaching ceramics. I now have a kiln, slab roller and wheel awaiting my home art studios’ completion! The more mediums the merrier. I just can’t commit. It’s a constant love affair.
